The European Commission launched on 10 May a reflection paper on harnessing globalisation, the second of a series of papers on the future of Europe. The Commission´s think-piece identifies seven key trends shaping globalisation, such as a growing “demand for more Fair Trade, sustainable and local products”. Fair Trade Advocacy Office issued a reaction to an important reflection paper launched by the EC Vice Presidents on how the EU should harness globalisation, which says it will support fair trade (but for Europeans only!).
