Credit Union Central of Canada (CUCC) announced the recipients of the 2017 National Credit Union Awards Program on May 10. The National Credit Union Awards highlight fresh and effective programs that emphasize local economic initiatives, innovative solutions that improve the effectiveness of the credit union, and the ambitions of tomorrow’s young leaders.

Among the winners were two members of the Canadian CED Network: Assiniboine Credit Union in Manitoba and Vancity Credit Union in British Columbia.

31 ajuntaments de Catalunya creen la primera associació municipal per fomentar noves formes de produir i consumir democràtiques, solidàries i sostenibles, amb l’objectiu de fer una transició cap a un model econòmic més resistent als efectes de les grans crisis econòmiques

L’objectiu d’aquesta aliança municipal és impulsar un model socioeconòmic alternatiu transformador que contribueixi a la reducció de les desigualtats socials i territorials i a promoure una economia al servei de les persones i de la jus­tícia social

La Comissió Executiva de la nova associació està formada pels municipis de Barcelona, Santa Margarida i els Monjos, Manlleu, Badalona, Girona, Mataró, Mieres, Sabadell i Santa Coloma de Gramenet

Barcelona ha acollit l’acte formal de constitució de l’Associació Xarxa de Municipis per l’Economia Social i Solidària (XMESS), amb l’adhesió formal de 31 ajuntaments que representen el 44% de la població de Catalunya.
